There were few times in which Felicity was truly happy, sure she might appear happy to the unobservant people who called themselves a friend, but they did not know the emotional torment she had suffered for years. It was true to say that during her time at the beach with Shane, she was in fact truly and absolutely happy. Though now the day was ending, slipping away to the darkening clouds and the droplets of rainfall that would put a halt to their enjoyment, and then Flick would have to face reality once again. She would ensure that she enjoyed every moment until then, when she would eventually have to traipse home and see what state her family was in since she had seen them briefly that morning.
Flick found once again that she had something in common with Shane in having experience with people who cared far too much for the lives of other people, particularly the celebrities that they would never even know. “Sure you do, it happens everywhere.” She commented flippantly, her gaze slipping back towards the shore where pairs of judgemental eyes were still fixed on the two teenagers, and Flick half expected some kind of rescue attempt if they didn’t get out of the water soon enough. She had forgotten about her abandoned belongings, but she wouldn’t be surprised if her mp3 player had been pinched by someone or her clothes by a kid having a laugh. Neither of which she would really care about, since the music player had previously been her brother’s and she wasn’t unwilling to go home in nothing but her wet bikini. How likely it was that hers and possibly Shane’s belongings had been stolen whilst they cavorted in the sea, was unknown until they saw for themselves.
She stemmed her movement in the water, allowing her head to dip beneath the surface briefly as Shane spluttered from the inhalation of the water she had splashed at him. Treading water once more, Flick grinned at him as he agreed with her. “Precisely.” Her lips curled into the familiar cat-like smile, which sunk as she glanced upwards to the dark grey clouds that covered every inch of the sky. She should have been used to it after living in Forks all her life, but after the brief respite of sun, she was perhaps secretly more hopeful than usual that it would last. Though, she enjoyed the rain and thunderstorms more so than the sun, it often put a halt to whatever she was doing and normally resulted in a reluctant return home. “I guess we ought to get out of the water before we get swept into the middle of the ocean.” She stated bluntly, as the wind was picking up and the waves would soon engulf the pair and probably drown them as well and Flick didn’t fancy being found at the bottom of the sea anytime soon. It seemed their meeting was almost over and they would have to depart and go their separate ways, but Felicity was certain she would make time to see him again. I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed The day was drawing to a close, the upcoming storm slowly inching closer to them. Shane let out a small sigh of protest and glanced up, biting his lower lip. He didn't want the day to end yet, but in the end, he wouldn't get his way this time around. A moment or two came and went. “Sure you do, it happens everywhere.” He chuckled a little, under his breath, as he followed her gaze towards shore. People stared at the two of them, as if they were crazy. His gaze drifted to where they had left their belongings, still biting his lip. His book, he wouldn't really care if it was stolen. But if his keys or his phone were taken, he might get pissed off. Shane wouldn't be looking forward to possibly walking back home. His shirt and shoes, wouldn't really care if they were taken by someone for a laugh. So, he would go back home in his shorts and no shirt..whatever. “Precisely.” Shane glanced back at his new friend Flick, as she looked upwards at the darkening sky. A moment passed by them, as he had looked back at the shore and their audience. Who knows? In a little while, if they're still in the water, they might try to make a rescue attempt. But again, who knows? She glanced back at him, as she spoke. “I guess we ought to get out of the water before we get swept into the middle of the ocean.” He then nodded his head, a bit reluctant. He took another look at the sky above them, as the wind began to pick up a little bit. Though he would like to stay here, the idea of not ending up at the ocean's bottom... ranked higher on the priority scale right now. OOC: Better late than never

Flick’s mood was beginning to dwindling like the daylight, pulling at her as though she and it were attached and if she wasn’t so actively treading water then the crashing waves would have easily taken her under the water and swept her away from Shane. Felicity wasn’t so sure that she wanted the day to end or to part from him; his company was appreciated more than he knew and it was a lot better than what she would get at home. The air was now crisp, the wind still no danger to the swimming pair but the waves were becoming bigger and fiercer as the storm took a hold on the weather. Though the water felt warm against her skin whilst she was submerged beneath it, Flick knew as soon as she stepped foot on land, her skin would be rich with goose bumps as the water droplets evaporated off her slender body and with no towel, she would be pretty darn cold.
Felicity wondered if anyone would come to her rescue if she feigned drowning, though it was more likely that in her attempt to provide a little entertainment, she would in fact inhale too much water and actually drown. Though that wasn’t what stopped her, her heart wasn’t in it, overcome by the same melancholy that surfaced once her brief respite of happiness evaporated into dust. She forced a smile, which faltered a little as her eyes fixed on his as he agreed with her incentive to get out of the sea, and quickly she diverted her gaze back towards the shore. Her body was swimming before she knew it, heading back to the safety of the beach before the rain began to pelt down and soak the few belongings they each had. It was tougher to swim in the stronger current, but that didn’t faze Felicity as she propelled her body forwards almost effortlessly.
She glanced over her shoulder to see where Shane was, halting her movement towards the shore for just a moment to ensure that he hadn’t been swept out into the open ocean and beyond, of which Flick would have been severely disappointed about. It was fair to say that he was now her one and only friend, since nobody else had stuck around her for very long, and perhaps it would be the same for Shane too, but only time would tell. Flick had good intentions most of the time, she needed friends and this time she would be sure to try and keep Shane as one rather than pushing him away. he had yet to find out quite how difficult and complicated she really was, but there was plenty of time for that, especially if they were to be attending Forks High together in the near future. Resuming her swim, Felicity ducked her head under the water and front crawled until her toes scraped the sandy bottom of the sea and she was able to stand properly in the water. The cooler air hit her as soon as her shoulders emerged from the salty water, followed by the rest of her body as she walked back onto the beach. Goose bumps did indeed strike her skin, and Flick crossed her arms to try and prevent any shivering, turning in the meanwhile to find Shane once again and waited for him to join her out of the water. I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed This day was turning out to be better than he had planned, meeting his first friend in Forks and all. Shane inhaled slow and deep, not looking forward to seeing it end. The air grew crisp, as he started following Flick's lead and moved toward the shore. He was actually glad that he didn't sit at his new home, and went out into the world for once. If he's gonna be living in this area for a while, then he might as well..get to know the place and get used to it. Along with school, he will be starting his after-school job as well. It was his aunt's idea to apply there, at the Bella Italia. And well, it's money that is going into his pocket and who was he to pass it up? The wind wasn't a problem yet, though he could feel all the waves as they grew bigger in size and fiercer now. A couple of moments passed by them, as he inhaled deeply and then went underneath the surface. Although it became rougher than before, the water still felt good against his skin. Shane came back for some air and felt raindrops hit his head. Rain is coming down, likely to soak their forgotten belongings on the shore. He heaved a quick sigh, as he swam behind Flick and moved towards the beach. It was harder to swim, since the waves were more fierce and bigger. Shane nearly went under once or twice, not quite used to this conditions. In the midst of the swimming, he had noticed that she stole a glance back at him - to ensure that he was still there. His attention was focused upon her for a bit too long, as another wave came and crashed over him. He soon came back up to the surface, coughing since some of the water went into his mouth and down his throat. His swimming faltered, but he managed to get back into the swing of things. As Shane slowly made it to the shore, Flick was standing on the beach already - her arms crossed. A wave of cold air hit him, as he emerged and a shiver shot up his spine. He then took a deep breath, as he reached land..upon his hands and knees. A moment came and went, then Shane moved into a standing position. Sand clung to his wet skin a bit, he wiped his hands on his already-wet shorts. The rain came down, a cold breeze blew past and he couldn't help but shiver.

Flick was certain that her day was better than any day working at Newton’s, though Mike was a pretty good boss, there was only so much fun she could have whilst tending to the customers and the stock. The beach had been a lot more interesting, and even though the rain was now beginning to make its descent onto the earth, not even that could spoil her time with the soon-to-be new kid at Forks high school. She was still intrigued how the boy would cope, and would soon see it for herself when he immersed himself into the good old ritual of learning. Felicity was still convinced her time at the high school was merely wasting time until her next phase of life, and she had another two years to go, which was something that the teenager did not relish. Of course a part of her enjoyed the few hours of the day when education should be her priority, though the whole learning experience was tepid in comparison to her rebellious streaks that usually resulted in her suspension and threatened expulsion. Shane was perhaps too tame for some of her misadventures, but she didn’t intend on leading him astray when he didn’t have long to spend at the school anyway.
The darkening sky could have suggested it was night-time if it weren’t for the fact that Flick knew it was only late afternoon, the almost black clouds smearing the previously blue sky with their smoky forms and blocking out all the sunshine that had been beating down upon them before they had taken to the water. As she emerged from the sea, Felicity cast a quick glance over to the two small piles of belongings that were, to her keen eyes, still intact. Turning to face Shane again, she watched as he held her gaze for longer than was comfortable to her and then proceeded to be swallowed by a fierce wave. Her eyes widened for that moment and Flick took a hastened few steps forward, for fear than her new friend would drown in the strong current, which would have been the fastest that any of her friends had left her and the first to have lost a life. Fortunately for Flick, she did not have to bear that responsibility on her shoulders as Shane rose from the water, spluttering after inhaling the salt water into his lungs, and she took a sigh of relief before shaking her head at the boy who seemed rather prone to accidents like that.
Her eyes did not leave him until he touched almost dry land and he was able to balance fully on two feet without falling on his backside, as she had witnessed previous to their excursion into the watery depths of the ocean. Flick wrapped her arms around herself as the cool air created shivers along her body, which followed the trail of goose-bumps that covered every inch of her skin. “You really need to be more aware of your surroundings.” She commented offhandedly. “So you don’t drown, or fall down a hole or something.” Her lips curled into that familiar smirk once more, before turning away from Shane, hoping that he would manage the short walk to the upper end of the shore where their items sat untouched, without falling face first onto a jellyfish.
Her strides were small and slow as she trudged back up the beach to her small pile of clothing and the not so inconspicuous mp3 player, which no one had deemed fit enough to steal. Her feet were picking up sand again, but that was inevitable as the vast path of grains lead from the sea and to their exit. Felicity stopped where she had previously been laying, water droplets still scattered across her cold skin, her hair dripping and would remain saturated until she got home as she had no towel; but that didn’t matter to her. She slipped her legs through the denim shorts she had brought and pulled the flimsy t-shirt over her head to conceal her body from most of the elements. She picked up her sand covered mp3 player, brushing off most of the granules and stuffing it in her pocket, where she would probably forget about it and the small music player would likely end up having a turn through the washing machine once her mother got hold of her dirty clothes. Flick didn’t see the point of putting her shoes on with sandy feet, so instead she carried them in one hand, whilst the other placed the large sunglasses onto the top of her head so she didn’t have to carry those too. “Ready?” She asked solemnly as she looked over at Shane, knowing full well that he would probably take longer than her to gather his belongings as he simply had more than she did. I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed As Shane came back to the surface, he stole a brief glance at Flick. Is it just him, or does she seem a bit closer than a little while ago..before he went under? Maybe she was. He wasn't entirely sure. He focused on making it back to dry land, not wanting to be taken under again. Once he made it, he fell to his hands and knees..some of his energy drained. That short time, being underwater like that, scared him a bit. Though he'll never admit to it, not to anyone. Then, slowly, he stood up on his two feet and shook his head. He took a deep breath and glanced over at his new friend. He noticed, as Flick had crossed both her arms. “You really need to be more aware of your surroundings.”Shane then bit his lip, feeling embarrassed. “So you don’t drown, or fall down a hole or something.” He noticed her little smirk touching her lips, before she turned and headed over to where they left their belongings. He soon followed, a faint blush spreading across his cheeks. Shane glanced over at their little 'audience' and cracked a half-smirk. As soon as they got out of the water, the group resumed packing..with haste. He softly chuckled at the sight, one of the people stole a glance over at them. Shane could've sworn they started to shake their fist at him. He then glanced back, before he ran into Flick's back or stepped on something he shouldn't. A few moments passed, as they made it to their stuff. Everything seemed to be accounted for, which was good. He grabbed his t-shirt and instead of putting it on, he wiped off most of the remaining sand particles on him. He didn't plan on putting his sneakers back on, so he simply stuffed both of his socks into them. He grabbed his book, cell phone, and his car keys in one hand and everything else in the other hand. Another moment came and went, as he looked over at Flick. He began to wonder if she needed a ride or not. “Ready?” Shane slightly nodded his head, making his way up to where his car was. He didn't like to see their time come to an end, but at least he's gonna be going to the same school as Flick. They may run into each other in the hall or at lunch, or whatever. His half-smirk returned to touching his lips. "Do you need a ride or something?" he then asked, as they walked.

Flick hadn’t wanted to appear too concerned for his wellbeing, and her hasty step forwards to make sure Shane emerged from the water was perhaps not missed by him, but she hoped that he would just assume he was imagining things rather than having the idea that she was already rather attached to him. Though was it just human compassion that made someone reach out to another when they were in trouble? It was normal, that was all. It wasn’t like she was entirely heartless and would stand and watch him drown rather than give into what she imagined was instinct; no, she hadn’t got that far yet. Honestly she had feared for Shane’s life for that moment, and unlike her playful teasing earlier in the water, there was a good chance that the current could have kept him under the water until his lungs gave out.
She realised as Shane bit his lip once again, that she ought to have kept her words to herself rather than persistently embarrassing that lad. It was a natural reaction, something that she had developed at a young age and had so far kept with her. Flick didn’t mean any harm most of the time, her words were merely meant to toy with other people and provide her with a little entertainment every now and then. The only thing that she had forgotten was that some people took her words to heart, maybe they were sensitive or insecure, and half the time she remained oblivious to that. Shane on the other hand was different, he was kind, gentle, and she had picked up on his little habit of lip biting that signalled anxiety. Flick kept her face though, and glanced over the rest of the stragglers who were now making a full effort at packing their things away to escape the pursuing raincloud now the two teenagers were safely out of the water.
Shane did not exclaim that anything had been stolen, so it appeared the townspeople were more trustworthy than Flick had previously thought, though perhaps they simply didn’t think their belongings to be worth stealing. Either way, Flick was satisfied and it seemed evident than Shane was too. Another smile rose to her mouth as he confirmed he was ready to evacuate the beach before the sky really opened up and drenched them in seconds, but Flick expected that to come as she somehow made her way somewhere else. She often felt like a drifter, steering clear of her own house as though it contained the last remnant rat of the plague, and instead moving from place to place with no real incentive other than to spend as little time in the presence of her family. "Do you need a ride or something?" Flick inwardly chuckled in the knowledge that she literally had no place to be, though the humour did not touch her face since it was really a bit twisted to be amused by her own misfortune. Her eyes fell momentarily to the ground, watching the sand darken little by little as the spots of rain were quickly absorbed. She remained silent for a while longer, contemplating Shane’s offer and concluding that she did not have a better offer in place, in truth Flick had no other offer at all. Her eyes fixed on him once more, her smile faltering a little as she considered the wording of her answer, and then turning to form yet another mischievous smirk. “It depends…where would you take me?”

I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed As Shane looked ahead of them, his car slowly came into his view. A quick glance towards the remaining people packing up their things, noticing the majority of them were already making a run to their vehicles. He nearly chuckled, looking back to his new friend Flick. He had asked if she was in need of a ride or something, mainly to be polite. He wasn't gonna let his new friend walk back to wherever she was headed, in the rain. That wouldn't be nice of him. The other part of his reason being, he didn't want their time to end. He did enjoy Flick's company and he was actually having fun. She didn't say anything yet, and he gently bit his lower lip. Shane hoped that he didn't just scare her off, but she wasn't making any move to get away from him. He does like Flick, as a friend and he didn't want to screw it all up. Shane then felt her eyes upon him, so he glanced over at her. The smirk touching her lips didn't go unnoticed. “It depends…where would you take me?” A half-smirk touched upon his lips, as he let out a small chuckle. "Well, for one thing..someplace warm..." he answered, looking up at the sky and feeling a few raindrops hit his face. Shane almost closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling, but he didn't. A moment passed by them, as he looked back at Flick. "And another thing..I have no clue, what's there to do in this place anyway? It seems, unless I'm really mistaken, that neither of us want to go home yet..." he added, as they drew closer to where his car's parked. He took a deep breath, putting all his belongings in just one hand except for his car keys. OOC: Sorry for the wait.. lol

Her feet were moving without any conscious thought, walking beside Shane as though they floated on the very air itself, which of course was impossible. She enjoyed the cool droplets of water on her bare skin, chilling her slowly to the bone as her clothes became quickly saturated from the increasing downpour. She laughed out loud at the scrambling of people as they desperately sought shelter within their cars, and pirouetted twice with her arms stretched out and her face raised upwards to sky in a random moment of ecstasy that was not foreign to her. Of course these moments did not go unnoticed by the few who had once befriended her, and in all honesty, Flick could not explain them herself. Her head was in a strange place, had been for a long time, and rather than wallowing in a deep and dark depression, she instead revelled in it.
"Well, for one thing..someplace warm..." Flick had caught up to him, her smile faltering once more as he answered her question. It could have been worse, as she expected him to request to take her home, which her answer would have been a resolute no. “Warm? Where’s the fun in that?” She questioned as another playful smirk curled her lips, preferring the fresh outside air at that moment and felt somewhat reluctant to go anywhere inside, though they were steadily approaching Shane’s car. "And another thing..I have no clue, what's there to do in this place anyway? It seems, unless I'm really mistaken, that neither of us want to go home yet..." Flick chuckled outwardly, though something dark flickered in her eyes as Shane hit the nail on the head, though did not understand fully how reluctant she really was to go back to her house. “Not much. Unless you fancy cliff diving?” She responded with one eyebrow raised as though daring Shane to partake in the ritual of La Push in the ever torrential weather. “Forks is mostly about nature rather than actually being interesting.” She stated bluntly, a sore fact that she had grown up to learn, though sometimes she preferred the serenity of the woods and cliffs than the bustling atmosphere of Seattle or even Port Angeles. “You’ll have to go a bit further afield if you fancy some real excitement.”
“It depends what you’re in to.” She finished flippantly, musing silently over the possible extra-curricular activities that Shane might get up to. Flick couldn’t see him having such a wild streak like she had, he didn’t appear to be much of a party-goer, but then appearances could be deceiving. She was a fine example of that very fact, as those who did not know her from school or otherwise would perceive her as any normal teenager with a lust for life. The reality of course was very different. Her mind raced over the potential for the rest of the day, despite the rainfall, there was still plenty to do. If she were alone, Flick would slowly make her way back home or scrapping that, make her way into the depths of Seattle as she had done on several times before to indulge in good company and fine alcohol. She leant back on Shane’s car whilst he unlocked it, waiting for some decision to be made about their next whereabouts, which Flick didn’t care much about as long as they didn’t stray too near her own home.

I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed Raindrops fell, the increasing downpour drenching anyone and everyone still on the beach. Shane could see remaining people running for their cars, desperate to get dry. He then cracked a half-smile, as a brief moment came and went. He didn't put his shirt on, when he and Flick collected all their belongings. Shane figured that it didn't matter if he wore it or not, he would get drenched anyway. At one point, Shane had noticed that Flick wasn't beside him. He looked back, to see her pirouette in the rain. He couldn't help, but to let out a little chuckle, glancing away. Shane didn't want another mishap, since he already had two under his belt. Falling on his butt and then getting pulled under by a wave was quite enough for one day. And besides, if he was by himself, Shane would've probably done something like she did. He did like the rain, liking the feel of it upon his skin. It may be a little weird, but so what? “Warm? Where’s the fun in that?” Flick caught up to him, as he had reached his car and looked for the right key. A half-smile played at his lips. "True.." he replied, finding the right one. A moment passed, as he heard Flick's chuckle. “Not much. Unless you fancy cliff diving?” He looked over at his new friend, raising a slight eyebrow. Cliff diving? Well, that's interesting. Shane had never heard of it and now that he has, it sounded like a rush. He looked up at the sky, raindrops hitting his face. He almost closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling. “Forks is mostly about nature rather than actually being interesting.” He slightly nodded his head, glancing back at Flick. "I see..well, cliff diving sounds like fun..but I don't know if I want to chance it in this weather.." he answered, gesturing towards the sky. Shane wouldn't mind trying something new once. He bit his lip, as Flick spoke again. “You’ll have to go a bit further afield if you fancy some real excitement.” He took a deep breath, letting her words sink into his head. A moment or two came and went. “It depends what you’re in to.” He then put his key into the hole and turned it, as Flick had leaned back against his car. "Well... I'm an artistic kind of guy, whether it's playing my guitar or drawing..and you can't go with books.." he admitted, with a shrug. Shane pulled his key back out and then opened his car door. He tossed his belongings, except for his t-shirt, into the back and hit the unlock button - so Flick could get in. Shane put his shirt upon the seat, then grabbed another - to put on the passenger seat. "But lately,..I've become a bit of a homebody, so.." he added, as he stuck his key into the ignition and turned the car on. Shane hasn't really gone out much, since his mom died. Except for today. Even homebodies need to get out sometimes.

Felicity truly believed there was nothing better than the rain in Forks, though she supposed since she was born in the town, that she was simply just used to the dull and depressing weather. She wouldn’t be suited to the warmer, sunnier parts of the states, mostly because she despised the freckles that adorned her face when she was exposed to the sun’s rays like she had earlier in the day; plus her dark undertone to her personality just wouldn’t fit in anywhere else. Flick laughed right back at Shane as he enjoyed her twirl rather than giving her a quirky look like most people would do. ”True..” She offered him a grin, a little surprised at his hasty agreement since the temperature was beginning to plummet and the rain only aided it to do so. she would have expected shane to prefer the warmth that an enclosed room with a roof would provide, even more so if there were heaters involved, but perhaps he enjoyed the outdoors as much as she did, though probably for very different reasons.
She noticed the curious look that came across his face, intrigued by the unusual sport that the townsfolk of la push had practically invented, which Flick could totally understand. The adrenaline rush that came from leaping into water from a great height was something she failed to acquire by any other means, and she was rather keen to have Shane enjoy it with her. she was seriously lacking in the friend department, a fact that she was not entirely willing to admit, or more so that most of Forks highschool was fully aware that nobody stayed around her for very long. It wasn’t her fault she was self destructive and pushed everyone away, no, she blamed that on her parents who brought her up in a screwed up environment, which was something else she was unwilling to admit. "I see..well, cliff diving sounds like fun..but I don't know if I want to chance it in this weather.." Flick laughed once again. “No, it would be pretty suicidal.” She agreed light-heartedly.
"Well... I'm an artistic kind of guy, whether it's playing my guitar or drawing..and you can't go with books.." Ah, so he was the artsy type and definitely not the going out partying type that Flick was. The library would be the natural place for him, though not huge, at least there were a fair amount of books to keep people entertained. She enjoyed classic books more than the modern rubbish that was published, but she still loathed sitting in a silent library. It would have almost been valid suggestion, if it weren’t for the fact that she had been banned from the Forks library several months ago for behaving in an improper manner. She responded to the click that signalled the unlocking of his car, and opening the door, she slipped inside and sat on the shirt Shane had laid out to protect his seats. "But lately,..I've become a bit of a homebody, so.." She nodded, though she couldn’t understand how some people just didn’t go out of their own house when there was so much to do elsewhere. “Fancy something to eat?” The idea had formed and instantly made sense as it matched the criteria of being warm and she couldn’t remember when the last she ate was. There were several cafés scattered around la push and forks, which were easy on the pocket and served pretty decent food, so it was a potential plan to make a few more hours of the day go by.

I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed Cliff diving had sounded interesting, Shane will admit that much. If his aunt knew that he would even consider giving it a try - even just once, she would probably do nothing...at first, then while he's sleeping, she might put bars on both of his windows and lock him in his bedroom. She can be really protective of his well-being, but not as bad as she used to be. Not as bad, the days after she found him in his room. He bit his lower lip, as the memory briefly flashed inside his head. Shane resisted the urge to look at his wrists, where both his scars served as visible reminders. Her laugh had interrupted his thoughts, and he looked over at Flick. His focus returned back to the present, feeling rain as it hit his bare back. Like he really cared. “No, it would be pretty suicidal.” Shane couldn't help but to chuckle a little bit with her, he definitely agreed. Who would be crazy enough to even attempt it, in this weather? "Indeed.." Shane replied, while he climbed into his car and firmly shut the door. Flick soon followed suit, having heard the click of the lock and all. His keys nearly slipped out of his grip, as he attempted to put it into the ignition. Her nod didn't go unnoticed, after his last comment. He finally got the key in and then he started the car up. It roared to life. Shane slightly turned, grabbing his seat belt..and had buckled himself in. “Fancy something to eat?” He glanced over at Flick, nodding his head a bit. Now that Shane thinks about it, he hasn't really eaten since breakfast this morning. "Yeah" Shane answered, putting the car into reverse. He waited til Flick was buckled in, then pulled out of the spot and put the car into drive. A moment passed. "Do you.. have any recommendations?" he asked, a smile playing at his lips.

Honestly Felicity didn’t have any hobbies as such, she mostly lurked around the streets when she was not gate crashing a party or a club in which she would flirt with the guys and get herself a few nice drinks without delving into her own pocket. Yes, she was sixteen and it was illegal but Flick found it deliciously tempting to break the law. She enjoyed the adrenaline rush that came with it, like that of cliff diving, except they each had very different risks. Jumping from a great height into the unknown watery depths below could be detrimental if the weather wasn’t quite right or the current was stronger than it actually appeared, and though Flick was half tempted to leap off the rocky ledge during a storm, she was not yet willing to risk her own life for a rush. The police force were a lot more amusing to tease when they were around, and though she had spent a few nights in a cell over the last couple of years, she did not make a habit of being arrested. She had strictly avoided the police for the past few months, mostly because her brother was no longer around to bail her out without her parents knowing and she didn’t fancy having to get her father to collect her as the pulsating vein on his forehead would most likely explode with anger if he did so.
Fortunately for Felicity, she did not have overprotective parents, in fact she didn’t have anyone who was remotely overprotective of her anymore. Nathan was out of her life as though he had literally vanished into thin air, it would have been like he had never existed at all if it weren’t for his abandoned belongings and photographs that depicted his image. He’ll come back…one day. He’ll just reappear with whatever excuse he had for disappearing in the first place. Then everything will be fine again. Her thoughts often repeated the same mantra to reassure herself with wishful thinking, since her parents didn’t seem to care or think there was anything suspicious about their missing son, it was all Felicity had.
She felt terribly lonely at times, Nathan had in essence been her best friend, the one person in the world she would trust with her life and the only person who really understood her. She didn’t have anyone to fill those shoes now he was gone, and she doubted very much that she would ever find anyone who she could trust in the same way. Shane had the potential to become a real friend, unlike that of the people she usually hung around with and feigned interest in their uninteresting tales so she didn’t look as lonely as she felt, but in a room full of people she was probably the only one to feel alone. Flick didn’t feel alone in his company, which comforted her a little more than she would have thought, and she was honestly enjoying spending time with him.
"Indeed…” Flick smirked, imagining the people who might be crazy enough to go cliff diving during a storm when the wind was becoming so strong that the current would be impossible to swim in. she was careful as she slipped into Shane’s car, trying not to drip all over the upholstery with the rain water that had saturated her clothes and created a clear film over her skin, which was difficult with the droplets that were slowly slipping off her body and now onto the furnishings of his car. The car’s engine sprung into life, its low drone reverberating around them as she pulled her seatbelt into place with a small click. The time had really flown by, and though it hadn’t gone entirely unnoticed by her hungry stomach that it had been a long while since her last meal, it had at least forgotten for the duration of their swimming session. "Do you.. have any recommendations?" In all honesty, Flick didn’t care where they went as long as the place served food that was edible and that was most of the few cafés in the area. “Anywhere’s good, they’re all basically the same anyway.” She answered, placing her damp shoes in between her bare feet, which had lost the majority of the sand that had clung to her soles that had been washed away with the rainfall. “There’s a place not far from here, a diner kind of place, food’s pretty good there and it’s not expensive. I forget the name, but it’s a bit further inland.”

I've felt the hate rise up in me Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves I wander out where you can't see Inside my shell, I wait and bleed Shane soon pulled out of First Beach, as the storm came into full swing. Rain started to pound on the roof of the car, as he drove, mostly drowning out the radio. His eyes looked ahead, trying to focus upon the road. He didn't have to look, to know that Flick was there in the passenger seat. This day had turned out to be interesting, having met his first friend since he moved to Forks. She seemed friendly enough. They took a swim, right before a storm hit the beach...something that Shane had never done before. It was interesting. People left on the beach had watched, probably thinking that they were crazy or something. But he didn't really care. He had some fun, so why should he care what they thought about it? He took a deep breath, as his mind wandered a bit. The faint sounds of Nickelback played on the radio. He then turned a corner in the road, as Flick's voice had interrupted his thoughts. “Anywhere’s good, they’re all basically the same anyway.” Shane slightly nodded his head. He was pretty glad to have met Flick today.. now he would at least know one person at school. School.., he then mused to himself. In a few days, Shane would start at Forks High. He didn't like the idea of being the new kid in a school, though. Not knowing his way around and all, he doesn't like feeling really confused. “There’s a place not far from here, a diner kind of place, food’s pretty good there and it’s not expensive. I forget the name, but it’s a bit further inland.” A half-smile played at his lips, somewhat knowing what she was talking about. He had remembered going by a place like that, but he's not completely sure. "Sounds good" he said, stealing a glance over at his new friend. He glanced back at the road ahead of him, the windshield wipers doing what they do best. A moment came and went. OOC: Better late than never...
