Dacre humoured the girl further by listening to her continued pleas, toying with his prey as he had never done before as usually he would take his human victims swiftly and before they could show fear towards the carnivorous monster that simply needed their blood. It was such a waste to leave the flesh and bones to rot away after he had taken his fill, but his body wouldn’t be able to digest the material even if he tried to make the most of his victims. He was a blood hungry predator, and though the young Kimberly was ready for the taking, Dacre had waited and waited. His thirst was becoming near unbearable so his games would have to end very soon, but whether he was enjoying his disturbing form of entertainment too much or whether he had taken in every word the humans had said to him and he could not bring himself to kill her, was something only God knew. "Why are you being this way? Why are you so cruel?!" “It’s my nature, sweetheart. I was made to be this way.” Dacre answered indifferently, knowing that she probably wouldn’t understand the extent of his animalism nor his lust for blood that had resulted in her insignificant body being grasped by his strong hard hands.
He could see in the slight variation in Jared’s features that his words had made the young shifter think about something that had perhaps never slipped into his mind previously. Dacre was aware that there was a connection between the aging process and the continuation of the wolf form in the native shape-shifters, so it was entirely possible that Jared could remain the young fresh age he was now, for decades, whilst Kim would age naturally. It was a little similar to being a vampire, only Dacre would never have the option to physically grow older than his twenty four year old self that had been entombed since the fourteenth century. The sudden movement into the wall shocked her, as he expected, and though he had stemmed the force of the impact, she still called out as though he had crushed her between the two hard surfaces of the wall and his own body. The strength of any vampire was probably unknown to her, sure she may have heard tales from her wolfy boyfriend, but that was nothing compared to physically seeing it and now Kim would realise how easily he could turn her bones into dust. Dacre had let their mortal words get to him, lashing out in anger with his actions, and letting the couple know that they had hit a nerve with the vampire; something that only showed weakness.
Dacre’s attention was distracted by a new smell that instantly filled the surrounding area with its musky scent as the large wolf stalked behind him, its body easily taking up the majority of the width of the alleyway. So, Jared had a friend for back-up? He kept his grip on the girl, and turned to face the beast, which had forced a low growl up from its throat, and Dacre’s crimson eyes fell onto the curled up lips of the larger than life wolf with its sharp teeth bared in a threatening manner. The scenario had suddenly turned interesting, it was two against one and Dace was fully aware that the advantage would lie to the wolves, especially if Jared also decided it was time to shift into his furry counterpart. Of course, there were no real options other than to flee the alley and though Dacre would not initially admit it, he would have to let the girl go. “So, you have a friend?” He leered, turning his attention momentarily towards Jared. “Such a shame, you can’t fight for your girl yourself.” He commented, turning his focus back on the second predator in the alley, studying the large creature.
Resignation set in gradually and Dacre’s grip loosened a little, but not fully, around the girl’s frail body. “We ought not cause a scene eh, dog? I doubt the people of Port Angeles would appreciate it.” Dacre stated casually with a small smirk upon his face, as though it were merely an annoyance that the other shifter had appeared. “Well darling, I guess you’re off the hook…for now.” He whispered in Kim’s ear. “You can take your girl, and your mangy mutt.” Dacre spat vehemently, turning to face Jared once more and shoving the mortal girl away from him forcefully and towards the other male. He had to leave and feed immediately otherwise Dacre’s thirst would force him to take the girl and that would only result in an attack potentially by two huge shifters who wanted nothing better than to rip his throat out. Any other time and perhaps he would have tried to fight them both off, but he needed the sweet nectar of blood to boost his strength and energy. With a final glance at the unusual group that filled the alleyway, Dacre leapt past the wolf and took a running jump at the end of the dark brick corridor. His feet skimmed the wall until they touched the top, and with a speed near invisible to the human eye, Dacre was coursing through the back streets of Port Angeles following the nearest scent of pulsating blood.

“It’s my nature, sweetheart. I was made to be this way.” She could not help but think anything but no. No, he was not made to be this way. Nor did he have to be this way. The Cullens for example. They resist their urge in order to help humans. They had known what it was like to lose life, in a sense, she had to wonder why this man seemed to not think the way the Cullen family did. Then, a little voice in the back of her head began to tell her the obvious. He is a vampire Kim. They were made to be this way. Most are this way. You just got lucky by living near the Cullens. And the voice was right. Most vampires did suck humans blood, and this man definatly did. She was losing hope more and more as time went on.
She watched silently as the man seemed to process that he was outnumbered. “Well darling, I guess you’re off the hook…for now.” With that, she was pushed forcefully towards Jared. She ran gladly and clung to him crying, and just happy to be in a familiar set of arms again. "jared..." she said, burying her face in his chest and not lifting it for awhile and only to say. "Please, let's go.." She did not want to be in this horrible town anymore. She wanted to be some place familiar. La Push. Some place she knew that no vampires could hurt her. She began walking qucikly with him to the car, still clinging to him. She could feel stares from people as she walked by, probably staring at her puffy eyelids and how tightly she was clinging to Jared. But, she was not going to let go of him no matter what anyone thought. She did not feel safe anymore unless she had him right there, holding her. (sorry its crappy and short)

He panicked. He had never not been able to phase before but for some reason he just couldn’t. He felt week and he knew he was a horrible person and imprint for not protecting her. He just didn’t understand. He should be able to phase, especially since this was when he needed to most. What was wrong with him? Maybe it was because it seemed more real as a human. If he was in shifter form and was a mythical creator, it might not seem so real. Kim in the arms of some vampire, it didn’t seem real at all. He never thought something like this would happen. But it did and Jared was freaking out on the inside. He didn’t know how he was going to live without Kim...which meant he wouldn’t. He was a teenager. He shouldn’t have to deal with life and death decisions...but he was. He hadn’t chosen this life but it was the one he got. And because of his life, he was going to end up being the cause for the end of her life. He could do nothing but watch. Watch as the vampire drank her blood. He looked at her scared face and began losing the last of the little hope he had...until a smell came into the alley. He had never been so grateful to see another shifter in his entire life. Outnumbered two to one. Luck was on his side. Thank god this shifter decided to investigate the smell. He owed this shifter his life. He had no idea who it was but he would make sure to track him...or her down later. He watched in disbelief as the bloodsucker said Kim was ‘off the hook’. He was letting her go. He took another step forward as the vampire pushed Kim towards him before climbing up the side of the wall. He didn’t even care that the vampire was getting away...he would be back and all Jared cared about at this moment was Kim. He caught her in his arms as she ran towards him. “I am so sorry.” He said hugging her closely. He was never going to let go of her again. He knew she hated when he apologized but he hoped this was an exception. He would never forgive himself for as long as he lived. He rubbed her back. “Shhh...” He said softly. He wanted her to calm down but he knew she had every right to be like this. She had almost just died and he had caused it, she could completely break down if she wanted to. He finally got his focus off of Kim and looked over to where his savior was sitting, just looking at them. He or she was smiling, it might not look like a smile to anyone but a shifter but it was a smile. “Thank you.” He said sincerely. He owed this shifter big time and he would gladly find someway to repay him or her for everything they had done for him. Finally Kim lifted her head from his chest. He could now see her beautiful, scared face. "Please, let's go." He nodded his head and held her close to his side and started to make his way out of the alley. He glanced one more time at the wolf standing off to the side and nodded his head before hurrying off with her to the car. He opened the passenger door and made sure Kim was in and buckled before quickly shutting the door and running to the other side. He opened his door and started the car immediately before pulling out of the parking lot. He clicked the lock button on the car, though he wasn’t sure it would protect them from what he was worried about. “I am so sorry.” He said again.

Kim was trembling. No, not trembling. Trembling describes some sort of minor shaking. Maybe if you were cold you would start trembling. No, Kim was..... violently shaking almost. She took a few deep breathes to calm herself and slightly moved away from Jared at that time. Of course, she was still pretty close to him. Just not enough for him to feel her shaking so much. It would scare him, she knew that. It would make him feel even worse then he already did. He would feel like it was his fault. He would feel like he had dragged her into this when in reality, she could have gotten into it all on her own. She was a magnet for danger. She had proven that tonight. She most likely would have attracted a vampire. Even if it was just her and Carolyn shopping here today and not her and Jared.
She was in....shock. That was the best way to describe it. Everything was moving in slow motion. Even watching Jared run around to the other side of the car. All of it. It was all moving excruciatingly slow. She pulled her knees up to her chest and layed her chin on them as Jared got in. She knew what was coming next. The fifty thousand apologies. But, for once she did not want to stop him. Everyone had their own way of coping with misfortunes or sadness or even danger. This was Jared's own personal way of coping with all that. Blaming himself. And while it was an unhealthy but it was his own personal way. So, she was going to let him cope. She did not say anything for a while until she finally spoke ten minutes later. "We need to tell my parents something. I got mugged or something. Some reason for you to stay. You can't leave..." She said, wiping her eyes quickly as a few more tears spilled out.

He had messed up. He tended to do that a lot with Kim but this was different. It had been his fault that she missed school and his fault that she was in Port Angeles and his fault that she was alone. His fault she had been attacked. He drove a little bit to fast right out of Port Angeles silently. He didn’t know what to say. He knew she hated when he apologized so he stayed quiet wanting to apologize but not wanting to make her more upset. Finally she spoke. "We need to tell my parents something. I got mugged or something. Some reason for you to stay. You can't leave..." She said. He could tell she was going to lose it very soon and just break into tears. He didn’t know if she would get over it but he would do his best to make her ‘Kim’ again. He wasn’t planning on leaving her anytime soon though. “I won’t go anywhere. Promise.” He said. “We can’t tell your parents you got mugged because you are supposed to be in school...” He added. Ig her parents knew that Jared had her ditch school to hang out and then she got hurt while she was with him, they wouldn’t let him date be with her at all. “Your parents wont be home when we get to your house so we can figure it out then.” He glanced at the clock on the dashboard. It seemed like it was a lot later in the day when it was really only around noon. It had felt like eternity being with that vampire. There was some more silence until they finally reached Kim’s house.
short :/ sorry.

[/color][/b] wanted her to create a gory scene of vampire fragments and unrecognizable body parts, but she couldn't do it now. by the time she had ran off she had wished she had done something else, mainly give up a good fight, then kill. But he was probably gone by now, so she couldn't take it back. She would kill him next time. She made a mental rain-check for later. By the smell of the girl and the shifter she was able to follow their car. She felt somewhat protective of them now. She was already curled up by the side of her house, in the shadows or course, with her head on her paws. She looked like a pile of sliver fur with two blue eyes peeking out from behind her tail. Her body moved up and down slowly enjoying the rest, not the memories. The thought of the girl being thrown into the wall made her wince. She had her a crack with her sensitive ears that caused her more pain that the girl. The vampire hadn't crossed paths to her house yet. She had no idea if he wanted vegence, or was a scared coward who was in Canada by now. She wanted one because she could kill him. But she wanted two for the towns sake. The car pulled up making her blue eyes pop open. her body moved slightly readlying her limp muscles to stand. The car drove onto the driveway and shut off. As they began to get out Christine Stood up, her head almost reaching the gutter, a bit of water fell off making her ear twitch. She just wanted to let them know they are safe for tonight. She gave a little tail wag at the shifter to show him she was here to protect them . When he spotted her she slipped back and phased back. She quickly threw on some shorts and t-shirt from her bag around her neck. She stepped back out in what seemed seconds. "He, nor anyone, will not touch your imprint tonight." She said with a friendly grin. She leaned against the side of her house until they went inside or if the shifter had something to say. She looked at the imprint curiously, she looked terrified. Christine grinned at her apologetically for the encounter. the human must be scarred for life, hopefully she would feel safe enough to sleep tonight.[/blockquote] Chrsitine is a bit clingy ^^ Dont worry, mines short too, my brain is racked from all week exams xc[/ul]

Kim took a deep breath to hold herself together. It seemed at any moment one of these deep breathes might cause her chest to burst and make her fall into a million little pieces. But, if that did happen, it was going to wait until she was not around Jared. It couldn't happen around Jared. If it did...she could not even imagine what he would do. He might just fall apart as well and she didn't think she could handle that. That would just be horrible. And, she could not handle that tonight. Not after all that had happened. Jared was supposed to be the strong, solid type. And, if he fell apart....it would be like the end of the world. That one person you never thought you would see fall apart finally does. She could not handle that tonight. “I won’t go anywhere. Promise. We can’t tell your parents you got mugged because you are supposed to be in school...” That was true. But, honestly, what would be so horrible that happened to her at school that her parents would let him stay with her? It was a Friday so she always had the advantage of the whole "oh daddy please! It's the weekend and we have plans to get up early tomorrow. Please..." and then she would go into the "daddy's little girl" mode and beg and beg until she got her way. It probably would not take long. “Your parents wont be home when we get to your house so we can figure it out then.” She nodded and glanced quickly at the clock. Only noon. She had at least three hours until Daniel got home and five before her parents started getting home. That should be enough time. Once they got to her house, she waited for Jared to come over and open her door before getting out and attaching herself to his side. She was going to stay like that for quite a while. She probably would not be able to actually walk alone for at least a few weeks. That was definitely going to be a horrible thing. She was going to be a big, paranoid mess. She saw something move in the shadows over by the side of her house and stopped walking for a second before a girl emerged. She looked over to Jared for some sign of who this was. Not a vampire. Vampires wouldn't enter La Push. Unless they had a death wish of course. Finally, the girl spoke. "He, nor anyone, will not touch your imprint tonight." This girl was the wolf in the alley. The one who had saved her life. She smiled slightly as the girl grinned at her. "Thank you for what you did..." She would never be able to tell the girl exactly how grateful she would be. She had saved her life and essentially (in a way) Jared's too. Sorry its a bit short. Always seems longer when you are typing it. lol. And I love that Christine is clingy. Kim could use some friends. Also sorry that it took so long. I had ZERO muse.

He didn’t like silence between them. He loved talking - especially to Kim - he felt as if he could talk to her for days and not get bored. Being silent was almost unbearable. He truthfully didn’t know what to say. Sorry it wont happen again, do you forgive me...can you forgive me, I screwed up - big time, i am so sorry. So many things were going through his head. He couldn’t tell if it took a long time to get to Kim’s house or if it seemed like they arrived quickly. Nothing seemed real right now. He got out of the car and walked around to get Kim. He wanted his arms around her not for her sake but for his. He opened the door and pulled her gently out of the car and wrapped his arms around her. “I am so sorry.” He whispered in her ear knowing it wouldn’t make a difference. He turned back to the house with Kim and started walking toward it when a scent made him stop. It wasn’t an enemy...it was a friend. He noticed Kim reacted to the movement as well. “Its okay.” He whispered rubbing her arm. He recognized the figure...not by looks but rather by smell. It was the wolf from the alley. He..well, was a she. He was ashamed this young girl could protect Kim and yet he couldn’t. Kim was the first one to speak to her. It felt good to hear Kim’s voice, he watched her half smile. It wasn’t her real smile but he was happy to see it anyway. “Thank you.” He said. “And don’t worry, no vampire is stupid enough to step on La Push land.” They might sparkle but they aren’t stupid enough to walk into a group of wolves. He wondered where this young girls pack was... "Im Jared by the way." He added.
[blllaahh...gah, short again. im sorry):]

Christine felt good. You know the little warm fuzzy feeling when you do something like hold the door for a stranger? Multiply that by a million. She had saved the girls life. It felt... good. Christine was shining inside, but somehow keeping her bored poker face on the outside. The other shifter didn't seem as much. By the looks of it he wasn't going to shift... but she had taken his thunder, saving your imprints life made them yours forever really... And he had lost the chance. But by the way she still clung to him, not by fear anymore, she was sure she hadn't affected it. As they walked in she couldn't help but admire the ways of imprinting.
She nodded with a grin to Jared. "Christine." She said simply. She normally went by fern.. but she wanted him to be able to find her later hopefully. Christine nodded to his words. But once they were inside with the door shut she couldn't help but wonder. SPARKLE?!? What the heck does that mean? But at that moment Christine didn't really care anymore. With a small jump and an invisible tail waging in blurred strokes with speed she lept into the air "Yes!" she hissed with silent victory. With all the excitement she felt like she could explode, for real though. Remembering that vital piece of information Christine slipped off her clothes not really caring in anyone saw her, it was better than guessing she was a freaky monster. She stepped back to the dark area beside the house and phased in a split second.
Darn it! The little purse thing she kept her clothes in, she had of course, left on the ground. She felt stupid as she tried to pick it up in her mouth and get it over her head. She had it balanced on the very tip of her nose. Very carefully she sat down and acted like the was going to scratch her ear with her foot ad kicked it with her foot making it slide over her head. She gave a sigh once she had finally got it. She paused and stretched out the tightness in her legs then she was running. She took the back way through the woods to get to her house. But she felt stupid for phasing when she realized that ten seconds of fast running she almost face planted into the back of her house. She hadn't realized she had got so far north... weird. She sighed and yanked on the back doors knob. It didn't twist, but if you were strong enough you could pull it open. She ducked inside. The door slammed into place without a push.
Christine, still a wolf toppled over purposely onto her bed, that somehow had enough reinforcements underneath to support her. She passed out on her bed as a wolf. Normally she phased back a couple hours later while she slept. Her thoughts filled with the vampire encounter. Only this time she changed it a bit so she could get a happy ending.. sort of.. After they had gotten in their car she tore him apart, then burned him with a very convenient lighter that appeared in her hand. She smiled in her sleep.
[haha i just realized who dacres pb is, true blood dude right? that made it kinda hard for me to have Christine dream of tearing him apart xc then i think about his history and I'm good again xD ]
